C++ Software Engineer

BAE Systems Maritime - Naval Ships encompasses complex ship design, build and combat systems capability for the surface fleet.

We are the sole supplier and integrator of combat management systems (CMS) for the UK Royal Navy’s surface and sub-surface fleet. Our CMS products support planning, tactical picture compilation, decision-making and weapon control to meet multiple emergent threats in blue water and littoral operations. CMS-1 is the heart of the combat system, providing situational awareness and weapon control from its consoles.

As the C++ Software Engineer your main responsibilities will involve:

You will join the Combat Management System (CMS) product team, responsible for developing and supporting elements of the CMS and its supporting toolsets.

Your C++ skills must be excellent and if you are invited for interview we will explore your knowledge in depth. We will also require you to demonstrate your ability to take control of work packages and drive them through to resolution. Other skills that may strengthen you application include: C#, XML, Linux, Windows development, BOOST, Microsoft Foundation Class.

As the C++ Software Engineer your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

Substantial hands on C++ engineering experience

Knowledge of software lifecycle (design, development, support)


This is a full time role and will be based at our site in New Malden, Surrey.
